Allison and Brandon: White Geode at the Melrose

White Geode at the Melrose

White geode inspired wedding invitations for a classic, Dallas wedding.

The custom invitations we created for this Dallas wedding were inspired by crystals and geodes. They were perfectly unique with white and silver touches, but still paired beautifully with this couple’s classic wedding style.

Allison and Brandon were married at the Warwick Melrose Hotel in Dallas this past November. Along with their classic wedding style, they paired white geodes and crystals with their invitations, day-of stationery, and tablescapes. Their invitations were digitally flat printed throughout the suite with silver gilded foil edges to give it that pop! The white crystal elements were incorporated in the envelope liner as well as the response card. The envelopes also gave the suite a pop with their grey piping. Their day-of stationery complimented their invitations with the typography, color palette and white geode design. And as a special surprise, their favors were dog treats! Another animals lover after our own hearts. Jen Rios Weddings did an amazing job with this wedding, and congratulations Allison and Brandon! Special thanks to Jillian Zamora for the photography, and shout out to Posh Floral, Layered Bake Shop and Beauty and the Blush!

Elle and Keagan:: A Romantic Texas Wedding, featured on Southern Weddings

Romantic Texas Wedding Featured on Southern Weddings

Romantic Texas wedding feature with our custom pink and green invitation suite.

This wedding definitely deserved a feature and we are so glad our sweet, custom invitation suite was included. The soft pink and greens paired with calligraphy set the tone for this romantic Southern wedding.

Can we just agree Elle and Keagan are the cutest couple?! Their wedding was the perfect southern wedding, featuring soft pinks, rose gold and shades of grey. We loved creating their rose gold invitation suite. We contrasted the soft rose gold foil with the charcoal grey matte envelopes for the perfect juxtaposition. Here are some highlights from their big day below (take a look at those fabulous shoes!), and see more on Southern Weddings; we are so happy to be featured on their blog! Heather and Matt 8.jpg

A southern classic blue and white wedding. Need we say more? If you're totally in love with this style, you need to scroll down, like right now. Heather and Matt got married at the Milestone Mansion in Aubrey, Texas. Their blue and white porcelain vases with blue and white hydrangeas is every southern girl's dream! Their invitation suite was inspired by this blue and white porcelain with some sparkle, foil gold. Their day-of stationery we created, including the reserved, guest book, Instagram, and bar signage, carried the same design throughout. The lettering on the mirror welcoming guest, place cards on magnolia leaves, and the seating chart on the china plates were just the cherry on top. Special thanks for Britney Tarno for the beautiful images, Milestone Mansion for the gorgeous backdrop, and R Love Floral for the flawless florals.  Heather, you look absolutely beautiful!

How to NOT drink at a Christmas party

How To Not Drink At A Christmas Party

Sometimes people want to watch how much they drink, give their alcohol intake a break for awhile, or are in recovery. Alcohol served at holiday parties can be a particular challenge. The non-drinking party guest wants to be a part of the group, to join in the festivities, to enjoy the camaraderie of their fellow seasonal revelers, but they want to do it sober. Can it be done? Oh yeah. Millions of people do it every year.

First, if you are in early recovery, or for whatever reason feel particularly uncomfortable about attending a party where alcohol will be served, you can always not go. That’s a real option. People may miss you, but it’s a lot better than jeopardizing some hard-won sobriety.Second, know that at most parties most people do not get drunk. Lots of people will only have one. Some people will not drink at all. If you’re a heavy drinker, I bet you never noticed that before. If you decide not to drink at a Christmas party, you will probably not be the only one.Let’s say you’re a former heavy drinker who wants to do the holidays sober, or are alcoholic in recovery, and will be attending a festive party where beer, wine, and spirits will be offered. Here are some tips. You can do them all:

1) Go with someone, or meet them there, who knows your intention to not drink.

2) Have an escape plan. For example, drive your own car to the event. If you have to leave, just leave. It’s not a big deal.

3) When asked what you want to drink, say soda or diet coke or sprite or whatever soft drink. Keep that drink in your hand throughout the evening.

4) If someone asks why you’re not drinking, which may not happen because most people won’t notice, just say “Not this evening.”

5) Have a great time. Smile. If this is your first Christmas party sober, you will most likely be surprised how much you’ve missed by drinking in the past.

And one last bit of advice: If you still want to put a lampshade on your head, go ahead. It’s actually more fun sober.

Have a great holiday season and check out our blog for more content!
